With our Members

Our neighborhood plays host to some of Seattle's biggest events.  Luckily these event are put on by members of the South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce!

Savvy businesses and organizations know that leveraging marketing dollars with proven progams is key.

Here is a short list of quality events that the SLU Chamber is supporting in 2010 through funding, cross-promotions and other high profile activities:

1. Inner City Outings, SLU Scavenger Hunt (May 15th 2010) - Seattle ICO operates as an all-volunteer organization in partnership with local schools/nonprofit agencies, serving several hundred of Seattle's youth each year, providing opportunities to experience, learn about and enjoy the outdoors.
2. Center for Wooden Boats Festival (July 3rd and 4th 2010) - This event is very well know and attracts tens of thousands of visitors from around Puget Sound
3. South Lake Union Block Party (Aug 6th) - The block party is a major highlight to the summer and attracts five to seven thousand visitors to the neighborhood on a single Friday afternoon.  Business/Organization booth space is a hot commodity.
   
4. Cascade Farmer's Market Featuring Pike Place Market Express (June - Sept) - This unique urban market is manage by Pike Place Market and features many of the same vendors.  Survey data shows that neighboring businesses can see nearly and dollar-for-dollar benefit per market attendee.  Sponsor the market for great visibility.
   
5. Lake Union 10k Run (Aug 22nd 2010) - The success of this race in 2009 was phenomenal.  The number of racers is expected to double in 2010 with a capacity for even more.  Best of all, this race occurs near the completion date of Lake Union Park.

New for 2010!

In addition to the longer standing events in South Lake Union mentioned above, we are also supporting Beyond the Threshold in 2010.  The Chamber has determined that this event also has the potential to be a strong economic driver for our business district.
